Winter Wedding in Alberta Foothills

Covid Wedding

Marina and Christopher were married on November 7th, 2020, at Azuridge Estate Hotel located in the Foothills of Alberta. Getting married in the middle of a pandemic proved to be quite challenging as the number of guests you can have at a gathering kept changing. However, Marina and Chris were very fortunate in that they kept their numbers below 50, (at that time, those numbers were allowed) and their wedding turned out beautifully.

Azuridge Estate Hotel is a very stunning hotel which really contributed to the atmosphere of the wedding. The staff was amazing and the décor was very elegant.

Chris and Marina decided to have a first look. First Marina met with her father outside in the snow and then she met with Chris.

Then they had some photos taken with their wedding party as well as on their own.

Chris and Marina decided that they wanted Marina’s brother, Maxim, to officiate the ceremony. They also decided that they would sign the Marriage license before the ceremony.

The ceremony began at exactly 5:00pm. Chris walked in with this parents.

Followed by the wedding party and then Marina and her parents.

After the ceremony, everyone headed into the reception area. The décor was designed by Marina and put together by Boutiq Weddings & Events. The beautiful flowers were created by DeeVine Petals. Marina chose forest green and gold as her colours and she also wanted a lot of twinkle lights around the ceremony and reception rooms.

Just before everyone sat down to dinner, Marina and Chris were introduced into the reception room.

They were then met by the couple’s parents with bread and salt. This is a Russian tradition; “Bread and salt, in Russian tradition, represent hospitality. They should be the first things to be brought into the home; bread, so the owners never experience hunger, and salt, so their life will be full of flavor.” (Wikipedia).

Then all the guests enjoyed a delicious dinner served with great wine and a few kisses.

Kissy Kissy!!!!

After a few speeches, the bride and groom had their first dance.

After the first dances with the parents, many guests started to dance, socially distanced of course.

And then for some fun shots outside!

Love is in the air!!!
