New Year’s Eve Wedding

Greenery, Candle and Love

Sometime in late August, I met with Laura, Tyler and Laura’s mother, Wendy, to discuss their plans for a New Year’s Eve wedding at the Calgary Golf and Country Club. We had a lovely chat and I got a very good idea of their vision of a winter wedding. Laura and Tyler live in Vancouver, so we had a few challenges getting together but somehow, it worked out beautifully.

So the day of the wedding, Tyler arrived at the Calgary Golf and Country Club around 1 pm with his entourage to get ready.

The boys are all set to go!

Meanwhile back at Wendy’s house, the girls are getting their makeup and hair done while enjoying some refreshments.

Laura and Tyler decided that they want to have the first look meeting rather than the traditional meeting at the altar. So, as previously arranged by the photographers, Kendal and Kevin Photography, they met on the grounds of the Calgary Golf and Country Club

After a romantic greeting they were off with their wedding party for photos on the golf course grounds as well as at Stanley Park.

Meanwhile back at the Galgary Golf and Country Club, my assistant and I were setting up the ceremony site as well as the reception site.

The wedding party returned to the Club to get ready for the ceremony. As the guests were arriving they were welcomed by the music of Bel Canto Strings. The ceremony began on time as the wedding party headed down the aisle. The groom with his parents, the bridal party, the flower girls and finally, the beautiful bride, Laura with her parents.

The ceremony was beautifully performed by Judge Cheryl Daniel.

Champagne and hors d’oeuvres were served after the ceremony and then around 7:00 pm the guests were invited into the dinning room.

The reception was filled delicious food, lots of laughter and amazing speeches. Meanwhile, the band,The Dino Martinis, were setting up for the first dance. We also had these amazing balloons delivered help see the perimeter of the dance floor.

And the party went on!

New Year’s Eve hats, noise makers and horns were passed around just before midnight and then at midnight, every guest was handed a glass of champagne. The reception continued on for another hour or so, and then everyone headed home in cabs, limos and ubers.

A good time was held by all the guests and it will be a wedding that will I will always remember.

Many years of happiness Laura and Tyler!
