When I was in my early twenties I spent a year studying in Nice, France and I fell in love with everything that is Provencal. Lavender, toile fabric and the colours blue and yellow and of course, the local dialect. So, when Dana, from DeeVine Petals, suggested we do a French Country stylized shoot, I jumped at the opportunity. We then contacted Sofia Katherine of Sofia Katherine Photography to shoot our ideas, and below are the results of our endeavour.
We were fortunate enough to be able to use the Ranch House in Okotoks. It is a really lovely venue with a stone fireplace, a beautiful wood bar and a large balcony that is great for outdoor wedding ceremonies; and it is located right next to the Calgary Polo Club. The manager, Graham, set everything up for us and even brought his lovely woofer, Maslow.
Hair, makeup and dresses
Our models, Mary and Adelaide, did a great job posing for photos as well as enhancing the work done by our makeup artist Bridal Beauty Bar and Hairstyles by Bernice. The amazing dresses came from Durand Bridal and Formal Wear.
Our amazing table was designed by DeeVive Petals and Boutiq Weddings & Events. We wanted to showcase the colours blue and yellow in the flowers, the placemats and the stationary. The placemats were made by Alexandra Slawek, the rentals were from Modern Luxe Rentals and the flowers were created by DeeVine Petals. AJ’s Craft Creation designed the stationary and the cake was created by Swirl Custom Cakes and Desserts. All together, we created a warm and welcoming environment.
All the vendors that participated in this stylized photoshoot, really enjoyed using their creative juices to help create such a welcoming scene. If you would like to recreate this décor for your wedding, please don’t hesitate to contact Alexandra at [email protected].
On behalf of Dana and myself, we want to thank all the vendors who help make our vision a reality! Thank you to Sofia Katherine for helping us out by taking these amazing photographs. We could not have done it without her!
